I remember seeing Beauty and the Beast in the theaters when I was a little girl. And learning all of the songs and singing along to them.
This past week, the show was in Atlanta and it didn?t disappoint. They did all of the classic songs and the dialog was pretty spot on with the movie.?Belle (Hilary Maiberger) was the perfect Disney princess with an amazing voice?and Gaston (Jeff Brooks) was just the full-of-himself man I remember from the movie.
Gaston?s sidekick, Lefou (Jimmy Larkin) was impressive and very nimble. He was rolling and flipping all over the place and was definitely a source of comic relief. The candelabra, Lumiere (Hassan Nazari-Robati) was perfect and had the audience rolling at all of the right times. Even his lit wick/hands and the way he lit them was hilarious.?
The show was amazing at the Fox Theater. It was a very full show and everybody in the audience seemed to enjoy it as well. I was a little bummed there were some added songs that I wasn?t expecting, but of course, the singing was phenomenal!?
